Think possibilities

Never feel constrained by your past training and experience or your
academic degree or professional qualifications. Think strategically about
them if you want to make a mid-career switch. You need to get a buy.in from
the potential employer who could use your skills, abilities and talents and
your enthusiasm to make the shift.
Making a mid-career switch is tough but the consequence of not
making it can be festering unhappiness with not only your career but also
other aspects of your life. It needs a good understanding of yourself, the
opportunities that are likely to open up in the next few decades, and an
understanding of how career development works. The possibilities, as always,
lie around the bend.
